Westminster is a neighbourhood of just over 10,000 people located in the Southeast side of London. Westminster is bound by Glen Cairn and Pond Mills to the North and East, White Oaks to the West, and Highway 401 which runs through it to the South. The area shares its name with an Environmentally Significant Area and the former Township in Middlesex County from which it was annexed.

Real Estate

Westminster was planned with family convenience in mind. There is a public park every couple of neighbourhood blocks and plenty of centrally located schools that can be reached on foot. As for housing, Westminster is as affordable as nearby Pond Mills and Glen Cairn with houses and condo units built between the 1970s and the 1980s. Detached houses go up for sale in a range starting in the mid $300,000s to mid $400,000s while the condo units usually sell in the $200,000s.

Schools

There is a good spread of schools in Westminster, boasting a good covering of elementary and secondary grades across both the public and the Catholic school boards. Arthur Stringer Public School, Nicholas Wilson Public School, Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary, St. Francis Catholic Elementary School, and Wilton Grove Public School are all located in the Westminster area. Additional coverage is offered by Princess Elizabeth Public School, St. Anthony French Immersion, Regina Mundi College, and Mother Teresa Secondary.   

Living in Westminster

Westminster has convenient access to several commercial clusters in and around its boundaries. Within the neighbourhood are the services at the intersection of Commissioners Road and Pond Mills Road. This cluster includes restaurants, banks, shops, and a branch of the public library. To the West, the White Oaks Mall and surrounding area have a store for every need under the sun, and that convenience continues along Wellington Road, up to the intersection with Commissioners which features even more options for errands and dining.

The most significant feature of the neighbourhood is the Westminster Ponds - a 200 hectare nature area with an abundance of wildlife to see while exploring the trails. Other Parks in Westminster include Nicholas Wilson Park, Osgoode Drive Park, Westminster Park + Public Pool, Heritage Park, Shaftesbury Park, Ebury Park, Stanhope Park, Laurier Park, and Past Presidents Park.
