Highland London Ontario Real Estate
Highland is fairly large neighbourhood in South London. It is located between Wortley and Old South to the North, Victoria Hospital to the East, White Oaks to the South, and Westmount to the West. Commissioners Road, Wharncliffe Road, and Wellington Road are the major roads that run through the neighbourhood, granting it fantastic access to the rest of London.
Real Estate
The varied housing in Highland hosts an estimated neighbourhood population of around 21,000 people. There is a generous mix of older single family houses and new, large, luxury homes. Most homes are detached, but there are some older semi-detached houses and apartment buildings dotting the area as well.
Schools
Highland is also a great neighbourhood for school coverage. In the public board, students start out at Victoria Public School, Arthur Ford Public School, Sir Isaac Brock, or Mountsfield Public School before both feeding into London South Collegiate Institute for high school. In French immersion, students attend Princess Elizabeth followed by Sir Wilfred Laurier Secondary.
In the Catholic board, students attend St. Jude, St. Martin, or Holy Rosary for kindergarten and elementary grades, then move on to Catholic Central High. For Catholic French Immersion, students start at St. Anthony French Immersion then move to Mother Teresa Secondary.
Living in Wortley West
Highland has several convenient amenities. The Highland Country Club golf course is the centre of the neighbourhood and those who live in York Development’s exclusive Highland Green Estates community can enjoy the proximity to the course.
As for shopping, Highland is just North of White Oaks Mall, but errands can be done locally at the shopping plazas at Commissioners and Wellington with restaurants, banks, grocery stores, and pharmacies all in one place.
