Oakridge Secondary School London Ontario Real Estate
At 1040 Oxford Street West, the Oakridge Secondary School opened its doors in 1959. The school aims to encourage growth and learning while providing resources and support to students throughout their teenage years.
The Oakridge S.S. has 1000 students ranging from grade 9 to 12. The school has a wide variety of clubs, arts programs, music programs, and athletic teams.
The school is proud of their grade 9 Transition Activity in which they invite students and their parents to BBQs and teacher meets at the school during the first week of September. They further have various leadership preparation activities and a camp in May to prepare their students for leadership roles in their senior year.
The faculty aims to create a cohesive and cooperative community experience through these various events. This goal includes the absence of a “0” grade for students in grades 9 and 10. Support is provided to ensure positive grades for all these students to guarantee future success.
The Oakridge S.S., also, offers classes for developmentally disabled students which further reinforces their inclusivity.
Boundaries for Oakridge Secondary School London Ontario
Oakridge Secondary School is part of the Thames Valley School Board. The school boundaries are characterized by the Thames River to the south, east, and west, and the Hyde Park Road and Sarnia Road intersection to the north. The neighbourhood consists of primarily family single-detached homes, with beautiful scenery incorporating the banks along the Thames River and tall oak trees.
The Latin motto of the Oakridge S.S. directly translates to “Our strength grows as the Oaks.” This motto reflects the strength and leadership displayed by school members and students and falls in line with the strong and tall oak trees in the area.
