Newbury is located in the Middlesex County of Ontario, and is part of the Southwest Middlesex Municipality. Newbury is further situated in between Lake Erie and the City of London. In 1851, the Great Western Railway was constructed in the village. Soon after, the region saw its first post office open, which expanded the everyday functions and activities of the area even further. By 1872, Newbury was home to over 750 people.
The Four Counties General Hospital opened its doors in 1972. Since then, this hospital has serviced residents in Newbury, Lambton, Kent, Middlesex, and Elgin Counties.
