Mount Brydges, Ontario is a small community located just outside of London, Ontario. It’s home to just under 2,000 people. As such and not being located within a big city, real estate in Mount Brydges, Ontario is entirely affordable.
The median home price is $364,000. Many of these houses are single family homes. And for bigger lots, you’ll be looking at pricing above the median cost. Yet, most of these homes offer spacious 3 bedroom variations. And while there are a variety of older homes, new builds are continuing in the area. The Mount Brydges area offers a tight-knit community, with many residents calling it home for many years.
What draws people to Mount Brydges, Ontario? Here are the highlights:
It’s within close proximity to London, Ontario. It only takes a 25-minute drive to reach the downtown core of greater London. In turn, London offers a wide variety of entertainment and restaurants just a stone’s throw away.
The homes have character - at least the older ones do! Some homes in the area date as far back as the early 1900s, adding charm and wonder to this beautiful community.
It’s a quiet place to raise a family.
Mount Brydges, Ontario also has easy access to major highways. You can hop on the 402 to reach the 401.
The community as a whole is relatively safe and welcoming.

There are various shops and restaurants located off of highway 81 in Mount Brydges, Ontario. Residents don’t have to journey far to find or get what they need. For bigger grocery trips or errands, individuals may travel into London or Strathroy to buy necessities in bulk. Yet, Mount Brydges, Ontario has a Food Market & Beer Store, Car Repair and Towing Shop, a Village Pizza place, a convenient store, a Tim Hortons, a fabric store, a shoe store, funeral home, church, bank, a community centre, library, and even a local bakery.
And Mount Brydges isn’t short on green space either. Lions Park Mt. Brydges has about 25 acres of green space and walking trails. It also has two playgrounds and a picnic area - offering a wonderful spot to bring the family for an afternoon.
Mount Brydges is technically part of the Strathroy-Caradoc Municipality. Communities in this part of Ontario grew largely from the construction of the railway system. And Strathroy and Mount Brydges are the two largest communities within this township.
Strathroy is only a 12-minute drive away from Mount Brydges. If you’re looking for a Walmart, a hospital, or even just a wider selection of restaurants and things to do, Strathroy is your place. Further, you’ll often hear people refer to the general area as Strathroy. It’s a great place to grab dinner or stroll through the bigger Alexandra park during the morning or afternoon.
Strathroy also plays host to a big Turkeyfest in June - something you’ll want to check out living nearby in Mount Brydges.
The Caradoc Public School and Belvoir Co-operative Nursery School are located in the Mount Brydges, Ontario area. The Caradoc Public School is part of the Thames Valley District School Board. Close by in Strathroy are the Strathroy District Collegiate Institute and Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School. Driving and walking are the only methods of transportation in Mount Brydges - as well as to and from London or Strathroy. There’s also the option of cabs or taxis as modes of transportation. Or residents may also choose to use transportation apps, such as Uber. Check the app for the cost and length of trip.
Close by in London more transportation options are available. For instance, railway and busing options are offered. In turn, getting to Toronto or other cities isn’t too difficult once you’ve made it to London, Ontario from Mount Brydges. There is also a bus transit in and around the City of London.
The Turkeyfest in Nearby Strathroy
The Turkey Festival takes place every June in Alexandra Park. There’s karaoke contests, BBQs, tractor pulls, photo contests, games, shows, and much more! It’s not one you’ll want to miss.
Enjoy a day with the whole family. Go blueberry picking! And check out the Kustermans’ Blueberry Farm’s petting zoo, picnic area, and playground while you’re at it. Every year residents enjoy the fresh produce and experience that this family farm has to offer.
Stop in At Sunshine Bakery
This is another local favourite. Located off Adelaide Road, you’ll get great treats for great prices. Residents in Mount Brydges even refer to it as one of Ontario’s best kept secrets.
There’s a variety of small and medium sized events that take place in this park year-round. It’s also situated in close proximity to the Caradoc Community Centre off of Lions Park Drive. It’s a beautiful spot to take a stroll and enjoy all that the great outdoors has to offer. Check in at the community centre to find out what events are coming up!
