About Lawson Estates London Ontario
The primary appeal of Lawson Estates is the surrounding forestry and wildlife. Despite being conveniently located within walking distance to schools and grocery stores, the neighbourhood backs onto the beautiful Medway Valley Heritage Forest. The forest consists of many trees, swamps, marshes, and slopes. It covers 129 hectares and has over 10 kilometres of trails on either side of the creek that flows through it. You do not have to wander far to take in all of nature’s glory.
The forest, further, is home to various wildlife, including ducks, birds, squirrels, deers, chipmunk, raccoons, and moles. For the avid bird watchers, many species can be observed, such as the Great Blue Heron, Mallard Ducks, Belted Kingfisher, and Wood Ducks.
Lawson Estates is, also, close to various entertainment, schooling, and shopping facilities. The Museum of Ontario Archeology is to the north, with Sherwood Forest Mall to the South. The mall is within walking distance and is home to a Metro, Goodlife Fitness Centre, Shoppers Drug Mart, Tim Hortons, LCBO, The Beer Store, and the London Public Library. There is, also, the Medway Arena conveniently located right next door. Costco and Walmart are within short driving distances.
Schools close by the Lawson Estate District include Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School and Wilfrid Jury Public School. To the east is the reputable University of Western Ontario, making this neighbourhood an ideal location to raise a family.
