There are many single detached homes, along with three-story walk-ups, row housing, and small apartment buildings. Adelaide Street has a few small businesses but the closest main commercial zones are on Hamilton Road and at the intersection of Adelaide and Commissioners.

The neighbourhood runs along the edge of the river with access to the Thames Valley Parkway at Adelaide. Chelsea Green is home to the Wheable Adult Education Centre, the Brookside Banquet Centre / London Sports Park and the Chelsea Green Children's Centre. The main park in the area is Chelsea Green Park, with a soccer field and just south from the park is Spike’s Indoor Beach Volleyball and London Sports Park. The Thompson Road Park has a nice nature trail along the river and you can cycle to work along the Thames South Branch bike trails. New homes — some with walkouts — overlooking the river. There is also Vauxhall Park which is just across the river on the east side on Chelsea Green, and is accessible if you take Thompson Road. Just down Adelaide Street, past the Glen Cairn neighbourhood is the Victoria Hospital and further south is Celebration Forest and the Westminster Ponds. If you feel like getting a round of golf in, to the southwest from Chelsea Green is the beautiful Highland Country Club.
